BIO|OPTIONS’ biorepository consists of both frozen and paraffin embedded human tissue biospecimens representing the major diseases with a focus on the common tumors (e.g., breast, colon, kidney, lung, lymphoma, ovary, pancreas and prostate) and common diseases (e.g., diabetes, arthritis, autoimmune disease and infectious disease).
Frozen Biological Materials
Our frozen tissue inventory contains both snap frozen and OCT frozen specimens. Specimens are qualified for RNA integrity by gel electrophoresis. For many specimens, we have both the diseased tissue sample and a matched normal specimen. Frozen serum and/or plasma specimens and paraffin blocks matched to the frozen tissue specimens are also available for a select number of cases. BIO|OPTIONS’ frozen specimens are stored in LN2 vapor phase freezers.
Formalin Fixed Biological Materials (FFPE)
We have well over 80,000 formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) blocks representing all of the typical tumors and major inflammatory, cardiovascular, neurological, and autoimmune diseases. Normal tissue biospecimens are also available.
Biological Reagents
Customized RNA, DNA, cDNA and proteins can be provided from our tissue inventory or yours.
Customized Orders
BIO|OPTIONS will also provide biospecimens with customized preparation and preservation methods, including surgical tumor specimens with pre and post operative blood. Detailed clinical information for your specific research needs can be obtained.
Longitudinal Outcomes Collections
